The Funny Thing About Love

The funny thing about loving her
was not funny at all.
There was no humor in her rejection.
I never heard her speak to me on her own.
We never met over coffee, had supper or even lunch.
Nothing together-ever.
She may have found humor in that, but not I.
The funny thing is how I refuse to forget about her
and move on.
